Debit Card Network Reconciliation

This program will provide reports which will enable the user to reconcile debit card transactions appearing in DNA with those reported by the institution’s debit card processor. This program compares ATMRECON.CSV to one or more data files provided by the ATM/Debit network switch outputs a list of exceptions. If available, it also uses totals from a supplemental file to verify that all exceptions were indeed reported.

The standard reconciliation process works as follows: First the details of each transaction are extracted from the network reports using Altair® Monarch®. The output from Monarch is a csv file. This csv file is compared with ATMRECON.csv via a Microsoft Access database. The output of this access program is fed into Excel and then manually sorted through to come up with the final exceptions. 

This App accomplishes the entire balancing and reconciliation process with a single click.  Using a new screen within the DNA interface, the user can select the files from a location accessible to the user’s workstation. When the “Process” button on the screen is clicked, the comparison is done and any exceptions are written to an exceptions file. 

The application can process files from the following debit card processing vendors:

• Fiserv Card Services / Fiserv EFT - CD10 + IF67 
• Velera Connex - EFBPD020
• EPOC – “PDF”
• Visa DPS - EF500210

In addition to the match-off process, this program checks its own work, comparing the exception totals from the match-off to the difference in totals from the switch data and ATMRECON. This data is displayed within the Application and provides a quick convenient way to confirm that the application has processed the data completely.
