Overview

This DNAapp includes three custom batch applications (PS_EMER_BEGIN, PS_EMER_FATMSR and PS_EMER_END) allows a financial institution to identify accounts in an emergency.

PS_EMER_BEGIN:

The Emergency Begin (PS_EMER_BEGIN) custom batch application allows a financial institution to identify accounts in an emergency. It is able to set account level overrides in order to waive future DNA fees and rebate the DNA fees that have occurred since the start of the emergency. The fees handled by this application are fees the financial institution has charged, such as NSF, UCF, and ATM fees. For example, if the financial institution charges a fee for using a foreign ATM terminal, that fee can be processed (rebated and account waive override) by this application.  The application can be used for the overrides only, the rebates only, or both processes together.

In addition to setting account level overrides for waiving future fees and rebating fees that have already been assessed, this application has the ability to exclude the accounts from processing by other applications that support account exclusion.

PS_EMER_FATMSR:

The Emergency Foreign ATM Surcharge Rebate (PS_EMER_FATMSR) custom batch application provides the ability to rebate all surcharges assessed by foreign ATM networks on accounts currently in an emergency as identified by the PS_EMER_BEGIN application.

For the purposes of this process, a surcharge is the fee that a foreign institution charges the account for the use of their terminal. For example, the account holder withdraws $40 cash from a foreign institution's terminal. The foreign institution applies a $3.50 surcharge on the transaction. The withdrawal transaction posted to the account is $43.50. This application determines that the transaction took place on a foreign terminal and rebate the $3.50 surcharge to the account.

PS_EMER_END:

The Emergency End (PS_EMER_END) application is used when the institution wishes to end a specific emergency. It removes all accounts from the specified emergency, along with any account level overrides and application exclusions set by the PS_EMER_BEGIN application.
