ACH Origination Controls
By Fiserv
This DNAapp provides the ability to assist with risk management on files that contain transactions that are being originated to other institutions from an account within the institution.
The ACH Origination Controls application allows ACH origination controls to be established by ACH Company ID in the file load process.
When an ACH-formatted file is loaded, the following fields established by Company ID would be available to restrict and control ACH originated items, i.e. online banking EACH files.
- Maximum Credit Amount – Maximum amount of a single credit amount in a review period
- Total Credit Limit – Total of credits allowed in a review period
- Maximum Debit Amount – Maximum amount of a single debit amount in a review period
- Total Debit Limit – Total of debits allowed in a review period
- Review Frequency – provide review periods of daily, weekly, monthly and bi-weekly (every two weeks). This would be the review period that would apply to the Maximum Credit Amount, Total Credit Limit, Maximum Debit Amount and Total Debit Limit
- Review Start Date – day of the month the review period begins
- Hold – Indicates if a hold should be placed on an account for the outgoing ACH credit transaction amount when there are sufficient funds in the account to cover the amount of the batch.
- Account Balance – Type of account balance against which items are posted – options are: Ledger Balance or Available Balance
When reviewing these limits the offset transaction in the batch is the value that is used.
